Each week, we're highlighting a senior who played a part in making New England such a great place to live. This week, we want to salute Amy McKenna, who was nominated by her son Sean.

He writes:

Amy has volunteered for over 20 years in the town of Brunswick, always looking to help others.
She has served on the boards of The Association of Bowdoin Friends, The Mid Coast Hospital Auxiliary, and The Friends of Longfellow School. She has given her time and talents towards The Community Lecture Series, The Grand and Glorious Yard Sale, Scholarship Committee, Marketing, and Volunteer Coordination.

Amy continues to believe that Brunswick, Maine is a great place to live.

Each week, HOM will be featuring a different senior who has made New England a better place to live. Nominate a special senior in your life to tell his/her story. They can be a relative, friend, neighbor or someone else you know. You can even nominate yourself. The featured senior will receive a $50 gift card to use at an area mall, and a one year subscription to American Senior magazine. They'll also be invited to a luncheon here at Townsquare Media, honoring all of the seniors we're saluting.
