I'm quickly learning that in Maine, there are always tons of fun things to do! And this weekend is no exception. I'm really hoping that the weather cooperates so that I can take my family out to check out some of these great events!

GREAT FALLS BALLOON FESTIVAL

Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Simard-Payne Memorial Park, Lewiston. FREE admission.www.greatfallsballoonfestival.org
There's nothing quite like the sight of hot air balloons inflating in the morning, am I right? The annual balloon festival is beautiful to look at, but attendees can also take a ride in one of these spectacular balloons! There's plenty of rides, food, music and games, too.

ROYAL RIVER MUSIC FESTIVAL

11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, Royal River Park, East Elm St., Yarmouth. FREE.www.yarmouthcommunityservices.org
Lots of live music from Jason Spooner Band, Gunther Brown, Armies with Dave Gutter & Anna Lombard, Gather Rounders, The Loose Threads, Gorilla Finger, Downeast Soul Coalition, The Delta Knights, Jenny Jumpstart and The Hadacol Bouncers. Whew! Plus food, crafts and kids activities.

PORTLAND FINE CRAFT SHOW

9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Congress Street, Portland. FREE. mainecrafts.org 
Congress Street will overflow with art and fine crafts on Saturday. The Fine Craft Show will feature ceramics, fiber, mixed media, paper, stone and wood crafts from 80 exhibitors from around New England. This event runs side-by-side with WCSH6's annual Sidewalk Art Festival, which is on the same day, also on Congress Street.

MAINE OUTDOOR FILM FEST AT BUG LIGHT

8:30 p.m. Saturday (outdoor activities start at 5:30 p.m.), Bug Light Park, South Portland. FREE.maineoutdoorfilmfestival.com 
The evening begins with famiyl friendly activies in the park. Then at 8:30 p.m., the short films begin. Films inclued "Unrideables: Alaska Range," "Minute of Maine: The Butterfuly Effect" and "My 52 Weekends in Chile," among many others. And each one is an adventure unto itself - which one will inspire you?
