Portland

Portland is a city in Maine with a population of over 66,000, according to the U.S. Census Bureau. It is the largest city in the state and is located in Cumberland County.

According to Britannica, Portland became a town in 1786 and is named for the Isle of Portland in England. It was also the capital of the state until 1831.

Some of the attractions in Portland include the Portland Museum of Art, Portland Head Light, Bug Light, the Wadsworth-Longfellow House and the Old Port. It is also home to the University of Southern Maine campus and the University of New England.

You'll also find a variety of one-of-a-kind restaurants, breweries, shops and more.

The minor league baseball team Portland Sea Dogs make Hadlock Field their home.
