Anonymous Mainers Put Signs With a Message Up at Locations of Lewiston Tragedy
There's an anonymous post in the Lewiston Rocks Facebook group by a person or persons who are taking steps to continue to honor the victims of the Lewiston mass shootings.
After the shooter was found dead and the tragedy came to a close, Lewiston and the entire world felt the pain. Healing takes time. A lot of time. The gesture that this anonymous person, or more likely a group of people, took, is just another way to keep Lewiston Strong.
The post reads:
After the Christmas Trees , flowers, wreaths, etc., were removed, we felt that each site needed something else. The overwhelmingly positive feedback we received from the trees told us we weren't done quite yet. We think the signs meaning speaks for itself. We hope everyone enjoys seeing the sign at Schmengees and Just in Time. We were able to get solar string lights installed today at Just in Time, but still need to get Schmengees done. We are hoping to get it done tomorrow.A special thank you to Maine Wood Products in Litchfield for cutting out the letters for us, this saved us many hours of work.We will never forget. We are Lewiston Strong!
Here's a view from the other side of the road.
When I arrived at Just In Time around 11:30 on Monday to grab a picture, I found that the sign had been knocked over. They were back up though by the end of the day.
Kudos to the people involved in putting these signs together and installing them. Just another way we're all keeping Lewiston Strong.
