Warmer weather is slowly starting to creep into Maine over the next few weeks. That means that the ground will dry out, and the four drive-in theaters in Maine will be opening up for the season. Two of the drive-ins have announced their openings, with one including the movies that will be playing from late April through May.

Pride's Corner Drive-In

Pride's Corner Drive-In opened in 1953 and is still going strong today. While no opening date has been announced, a post on their Facebook page says that they plan to open in mid to late May.

A lot of things still need to be done to be ready for the season opening. One of those tasks is to replace panels on the giant screen. Every winter, winds manage to knock a few of the panels out of the screen.

And no, Elf and Christmas Vacation are not what will be playing when the drive-in opens in May. The photo above is from Google Maps at the end of the 2024 season.

Bridgton Twin Drive-In

Bridgton Twin Drive-In confirmed on Facebook on April 17 that the opening weekend will be Friday, April 25, and Saturday, April 26. Based on the marquee, they have some big movies in store. We've got trailers for you to watch below.

There is no word yet on opening dates for the Saco Drive-In, which is now owned by Aquaboggan Water Park and is across the street from its original location on Route 1. There is also no opening date set for the Skylite Drive-In in Madawaska.

In recent years, we've lost a handful of drive-in theaters in Maine and are now down to just four in the entire state. So when these drive-in theaters open, show your support and take the family to see a movie.
