Plan Next Meal with Farmers’ Market [Photos]
There's nothing like fresh New England strawberries. They are sweet and juicy. Seeing all the berries along with the rhubarb has the Portland Farmers' Market in Monument Square has me wanting to make a strawberry rhubarb pie.
Have you ever gone to your local farmers' market and created a meal based on what you can find? I've been inspired by author Elise Richer and her book Always in Season: Twelve Months of Fresh Recipes from the Farmer’s Markets of New England to make meal plans around what I can find at the market. Farmers' markets have everything from cheeses and meats to fruits and vegetables to breads and eggs. And of course the flowers to top it all off.
I have to recommend the potato chive bread from The Good Shepard's Farm.
