No Hot Oven Needed for This Over the Top Delicious Cake [Recipe/Photos]

Want cake but don't want to turn on the oven?  I have the perfect most simple, most delicious cake ever!  It will become a family favorite once you taste it.

The ice box cake is one of those "cakes" that my mother would make every summer because she didn't want to turn on the oven and add more heat in the kitchen. It has two ingredients: Nabisco chocolate wafer cookies and whipped cream.  Ok, it could have more ingredients if you add sugar and vanilla to the whipped cream.  Your call.

"Glue" the cookies together with the whipped cream and create a log roll.

Cover the roll with more whipped cream and refrigerate for at least 3 hours.  You can do it the night before.  I cover it with wax paper and put toothpicks in the log roll, so the paper won't stick to the cream.

Cut the log at an angle and enjoy!  There are other variations on the cake.  You can use different types of cookies, different types of shapes and containers. You really can't go wrong with cookies and cream. Use your imagination and what's in the cupboard and see what you come up with.
