What Happened To This Car In Portland’s Deering Oaks Park?

There was a car accident in Deering Oaks Park in Portland that has me completely baffled as to how this even happened.

Car vs Stump

Tia Woodward took photos that she shared with us of a car that is not where it is supposed to be. The question is, how did this car even end up in this position? If it was an accident, then what happened? How does a car end up with the rear bumper against the tree stump rather than the front bumper?

There Has to Be an Answer

I've blurred the driver in these photos to save them any embarrassment.

There's an officer there standing with the driver, looking at the car. I imagine the officer is baffled by this as well. I don't think he ran over the stump because his car doesn't appear to have any major damage. If he did run over the stump, there's going to be a wrecked undercarriage that won't be cheap to fix.

The good news here is that it appears that the driver is okay. Maybe he thought it was a parking space? Maybe he wanted to test out how resilient his rear bumper is? I have no idea, but maybe you do.
