Maine State Police Investigating Monday Evening Fatal Crash
According to a press release from the Maine Department of Public Safety's Shannon Moss, a deadly crash in Stockton Springs is under investigation after a head-on collision Monday evening.
Maine State Police say the crash happened around 6:08 pm on April 13 along Route 1. Troopers from the Central Field Troop responded to the scene and found two heavily damaged vehicles.
According to the preliminary investigation, a truck driven by 42-year-old Adam Sorrentino of Belfast was traveling westbound when it collided with an eastbound Subaru Forester driven by 77-year-old Anne Pomroy of Old Orchard Beach.
Pomroy suffered serious injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Sorrentino was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was treated for injuries that are not considered life-threatening.
Route 1 was tied up for a while as crews worked the scene and investigators began piecing together what led up to the crash.
At this point, authorities say the cause remains under investigation.
