Guess what? I drove by this iconic ice cream shop in Lewiston and noticed it was open and legitmately screamed at the top of my lungs in celebration. I am a fan girl of this spot ya'll, big time.

Yes, ladies and gentle-dudes, spring has finally sprung on Campus Ave in L-town and Spring Street in Auburn because Dairy Joy is officially open as of Wednesday.

At least for us "Lewistonians", we always let Dairy Joy determine the first day of spring depending on when their opening date is. So now I would like to announce it's spring. Pull out your shorts, sandles, and fanny packs because summer is knockin.

I'm talking the best ice cream cones this side of the Mississippi. And no matter what you call jimmy's or sprinkles, everyone is welcome at this legendary establishment.

Dairy Joy L/A posted this at the beginning of the week,

"While is Snowing and freezing outside, excitement is raising as we are less than 24hrs away for our GRAND OPENING. 12 pm at both Locations. We are looking forward to serve you with even better quality and service than ever before. "

They are open from 12-9pm according to their Facebook Page.

My favorite dessert to order at my local Dairy Joy on Campus Ave is the small vanilla ice cream soft-serve with rainbow sprinkles. My son, Bentley and I always order that, sit in the back of the car with our feet dangling from the back and eat our ice cream in the parking lot, enjoying the summer nights.

So if you're a Dairy Joy super fan like myself, they are now open and ready to soft serve!
