The selected spots were also based on "genuine user reviews, awards and accolades, and the first-hand experience of our team."
So, which New Hampshire restaurant was featured on the list? Our state is known for its cozy communities, so there's a variety of places that could've gotten the shoutout.
Lou's Restaurant & Bakery in Hanover, New Hampshire
According to LoveFood, Lou's Restaurant & Bakery takes the title for the loveliest small-town restaurant in New Hampshire. Here's what LoveFood had to say, in part:
"Opened in 1947, Lou's Restaurant & Bakery is a local institution in Hanover, famed for its golden French toast, fluffy pancakes with local maple syrup, glazed-cider doughnuts, and poached egg breakfasts."
One glance at the Lou's Facebook page, and anyone can see that these folks know what they're doing when it comes to food. Just look at this avocado toast; it's the fanciest avocado toast we ever did see, and we love it.
Or perhaps you'd rather have pancakes?
This writer's never been to Lou's, but is feeling hungry already. The Lou's website mentions that the establishment has been open since 1947, just a couple years after World War II ended. The restaurant has been passed down to different owners over the years, but one thing's remained consistent: the scrumptiousness of their pastries and "from-scratch, locally sourced modern diner cuisine."
Congratulations to Lou's for this well-deserved shoutout.
