My name is Jeff Parsons, and I hate AI. Ever since that trend of everyone faking their photo, holding a giant candy cane, took off, I can't unsee it anymore. "But it's fun!" I hear them say. Okay, fine. Do your thing, don't do it like this.

A Facebook page called Maine Family Destinations is ruining AI for everyone who knows Maine like the back of their hand.

Maine Family Destinations appears to be a guide for tourists, but when you look at the photos, you instantly ask yourself, "What is this?"

Let's take a look at just how badly AI has created this alternate universe in Maine.

Pat's Pizza

Yes, Pat's Pizza has been in Orono, Maine, for a long time. But it looks nothing like the above!

Palace Diner

Who doesn't love Palace Diner in Biddeford? Another terrible AI job. This is what it actually looks like:

Dysarts

Dysart's is where I spent a lot of time in college when I didn't want to eat on campus. It's just outside of Bangor and is fantastic, but it doesn't look like that. It looks like this:

Moody's Diner

Sure, the Haddock Chowder is delicious. But this isn't what Moody's looks like. This is Moody's in Waldoboro.

This one is going to be bad, so brace yourself for this. AI Harmons

This little hole in the wall in Falmouth is Harmon's Diner. The AI version looks more like a candy store than a diner. This is what the real Harmon's Diner (Burgers) looks like.

Now we're getting to the worst of the worst AI recreations. This is Red's Eats, famous for its tourist spot in Wiscassett. It gets long lines to order, but typically, the people don't have missing parts, like one guy on the left who has no head.

And the worst and most inaccurate AI depiction goes to the AI version of the well-known Becky's Diner on Commercial Street in Portland.

Don't believe anything you see on the internet without checking if it's the real thing or not. AI is doing a really good job at screwing it up.
