As we all continue to try and figure out what our summer is going to look like in 2020, places all across the state of Maine have been getting very creative with new, inventive ways to bring people together while simultaneously keeping them distant. Bayside Bowl is the latest to unveil a brilliant idea, using their incredible rooftop area in downtown Portland to show movies all summer long.

Shared on Facebook by Bayside Bowl, the plan is to show a different movie every other Wednesday all summer long. There is no admission price to join the fun, but given the current circumstances, there is a 50 person limit during each movie night. All movies are set to begin at sundown throughout the season.

Bayside Bowl isn't sticking with a specific genre with their movie choices either. Everything from a Star Wars flick to Pink Floyd: The Wall to a Patrick Swayze double feature to close out the rooftop movie season. A little something for everyone.

While there is no admission, Bayside Bowl will still be offering libations from their menu because what is movie watching without some snacks? And if Mother Nature doesn't cooperate on a scheduled Wednesday night, the movie will show the following Wednesday as a make up date. After experiencing some technical difficulties on their first go around, "opening night" for rooftop movies with be Wednesday, July 1st at sundown with a showing of "Queen and Slim".
