1st Annual Lickee’s & Chewy’s Ice Cream Eating Contest Happening in Dover, New Hampshire
Some may not know the gem that is Lickee's & Chewy's in Dover, New Hampshire. Those who do have fallen in love, and now, we want to knight you with the knowledge of all the scrumptious goodies within the Dover Mills candy store, and the opportunity to try some in a couple weeks.
According to the Lickee's & Chewy's website, owner Chris Guerette was serving overseas in the military when a comrade referred to candy from back home as "lickie's and chewies". Chris was inspired, and resolved to one day open his own candy store called "Lickee's & Chewy's". The rest, as they say, is history.
Here's a peek inside. If this place doesn't satisfy your sweet tooth, nothing will.
And we can't forget these massive milkshakes. Which one would you choose?
Whether you go to Lickee's & Chewy's on a regular basis or have never been, it's safe to say that no one would pass up the chance to enjoy these sweet treats, and that includes ice cream.
But how impressive are your ice cream eating skills? Well, Lickee's & Chewy's has the perfect opportunity for you to find out and put that second stomach to good use: the 1st Annual Lickee's & Chewy's Ice Cream Eating Contest: The Quest for the Golden Spoon.
That's right. On Sunday, July 30, teams of four will face off to see who can finish a humungous KRAKEN Sundae first. Considering the fact that the sundae is named after a mythological sea monster, we presume the dessert to be as monstrous as its namesake.
The below Facebook post explains the details. It looks like there will be a method to how the sundae is consumed, with one person going at a time before tapping out when they're full.
As for what you're competing for? Well, that would be the "coveted Golden Spoon Award as well as dinners & gift cards to various Dover restaurants and stores."
This not only sounds like the perfect excuse to consume as much ice cream as possible, but to have a fun bonding experience with your friends or family.
