Dairy Joy is a family-owned and operated ice cream stand that originally opened in 1940. They have two locations, with one at 109 Campus Avenue in Lewiston, near St. Mary's Hospital, and another at 137 Spring Street in Auburn. They have a wide variety of soft-serve ice cream, sundaes, and regular specials and seasonal flavors.

Right now, they are serving something amazing!

Surprise Cones

I don't know who came up with this idea, but it's brilliant!

Imagine enjoying your ice cream cone, and as you slowly lick away the layers of delicious soft-serve covered in sprinkles, you find something inside. Don't worry. It's edible and could be one of several "surprises" you could find in your ice cream cone.

There's only one disclaimer involved about these delicious surprise cones. You have to order a medium-sized or larger cone. It makes sense when you think about it. How are you going to stuff surprises in a small cone? There's only so much storage space in an ice cream cone and the small cone isn't going to do.

Besides, why would anyone get a small cone? Start at medium and work your way up if you have to.

What Are the Surprises?

Good question, but what is the point of a surprise if you want to be told what the surprise is? Think of it like Christmas. You don't know what's in that box until you rip off the wrapping paper. Surprise!

So what are you waiting for? Both Daiy Joy locations are open until 9 p.m.
