Is John Tesh as nice in person as he is on the radio? Yup.

John Tesh was kicking off a 13-stop tour and decided to come to Maine before heading to Connecticut, New York, Pennsylvania, Hawaii, California, and Utah. He stopped in Maine first because his show, 'Intelligence for Your Life' has been on 949 HOM for over 20 years. As he shared in his concert on Monday, December 4, HOM was one of the first stations to support this new radio show.

John came to Maine to perform for a couple of hundred people for free. He took care of his lodging, airfare, and rental car. We provided the venue, an enthusiastic audience, and a ton of love.

Absolutely. He was unassuming (we met him trying to get in a locked door at Aura) and friendly, funny, and oh so talented. He and his stepson Gib Gerald put on a great show. They even added Christmas Trivia and pulled some people up from the audience! It was a lot of fun. He told the story of how he came up with the theme for the NBA, 'Roundball Rock'.

He poked fun at himself and got personal with the story of when he was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer and his fight to beat it.

He had the audience eating out of the palm of his hands.

He even had a couple from Maine as guests. They happen to be Mainers now, but Steve was John's college roommate and they still keep in touch. Steve's wife Kathryn was also a classmate of Jeff's. It is a small world indeed.

Aura was the perfect venue for John Tesh's Christmas concert.

Thank you, Aura! From Nick, Joshua, Mark, and everyone who made this so easy. Your venue was perfect and we couldn't be more grateful. It was the perfect way to kick off the holiday season.
