Two big music stars of the '80s are getting together for a tour that will bring them to Portland's Merrill Auditorium in January. If you are a child of the '80s, you no doubt were fans of both of these artists.

Rick Springfield moved to the United States from Australia in 1972, and about 10 years later, he had a major hit with "Jessie's Girl."

He didn't stop there though, with more hits like "I've Done Everything for You", "Don't Talk to Strangers", "Affair of the Heart" and "Love Somebody". He also did some acting, guest starring on shows like The Six Million Dollar Man and The Hardy Boys/Nancy Drew Mysteries. He later played the title role in the short-lived TV series Human Target.

Richard Marx broke into the pop music scene with his 1987 self-titled album, which had big hits like "Should've Know Better," "Endless Summer Nights," and "Hold Onto The Nights." His biggest hit, "Right Here Waiting" came off his second album, Repeat Offender. He's currently married to former MTV VJ Daisy Fuentes.

Both of these powerhouse artists will be performing acoustic sets of their biggest hits.

I wouldn't be surprised if they both took the stage to perform a song or two together as well.

The show at Merrill Auditorium is on January 25, 2024, at 7:30. Tickets are on sale now at PortTix, so you better grab them while you can. They're playing some bigger arenas around New England, but Merrill Auditorium should make for a very intimate show since there isn't a bad seat in the house.
