The legendary Diana Ross is coming to Maine to perform at Merrill Auditorium for one special night. She has been entertaining audiences all over the world for the past 65 years starting with The Supremes before going solo. She'll be 80 years old in March and she's still got it.

According to Wikipedia, in her solo career, 27 of her singles reached the Billboard Top 40 in the US, 12 of them the Billboard Top 10, and six of those reached number one, placing her in a tie for fifth among the top female solo performers who have reached number one.

Her list of hits is long with memorable songs like "Touch Me in the Morning," "Upside Down," "I'm Coming Out" and "Endless Love," a duet with Lionel Richie that was one of her number-one hits.

Just three years ago she released her latest album, "Thank You" which was nominated for a Grammy.

She is bringing her "Beautiful Love Performances - Legacy Tour" to Portland's Merrill Auditorium for one night only on May 14 at 7:30. Tickets go on sale at PortTix on Wednesday, February 28. Of course, like all concerts these days, there's a pre-sale going on now. Join PortTix email list to try to get on it. Tickets are going to go fast for a show like this.

What a great setting for a legend like Diana Ross. Merrill Auditorium doesn't have a bad seat in the house and seeing her perform on a smaller stage and venue like this will make the show just that much more intimate.
