Saturday, May 3, 2025, is the first time the Montsweag Flea Market has been open in two years.

The popular flea market in Woowich closed down in 2023, but under new owners, they will reopen Saturday, May 3. According to the Boothbay Register, the new owner is David Jones, who owns FO Bailey Real Estate in Falmouth. The flea market will stay open through the summer on the weekends 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday's is 'Antique Dealer Day' and open also 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

What's new at the Montsweag Flea Market in Woolich, Maine?

Well, the new owner has been very busy renovating the space to bring back some of the early days glory! The nearly three-acre property on the corner of Route One and Mountain Road has gotten the facelift it needed. Dave wrote to Wiscasset Newspaper and in the email said,

For years our families went to Montsweag Flea Market so it really bothered me to see such an iconic property sitting idle so I decided to bring it back to life.

Maine's 'biggest and best' flea market is back this week!

People are very excited to see the Montsweag Flea Market come back to life. It has been around since 1977, but closed during the pandemic to briefly open in 2022, to shut down and sell in 2023. David King Sr., the Woolwich selectboard chairman, told the Boothbay Register,

People have told me they really missed it since it closed and I think David Jones ... has done a wonderful job renovating the property.
