The website comparitech.com just released their list of the most popular Halloween movie in each state.

For this list they used IMDB’s list of top horror movies, they searched each film individually on Google Trends to find which state scored the highest. They then chose that particular horror movie for that state.

For example, Stephen King's The Shining was the highest scoring movie in Colorado on Google Trends, therefore The Shining is Colorado's most popular Halloween movie, which makes sense because The Stanley Hotel in Estes Park, Colorado was the inspiration for the Overlook Hotel from the movie.

And Colorado isn't the only state to chose a horror movie based on their own backyard. The number one horror movie in Texas is The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, a movie about real life serial killer, Ed Gein, aka the Butcher of Plainfield.

The number one horror movie in Rhode Island is The Conjuring, based on a true story, The Conjuring follows the story of paranormal investigators, Ed and Lorraine Warren, as they try to help exorcise the demons that are possessing a family.

So the big question is what's the number one horror movie in Maine?

According to comparitech.com it's Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds. A movie about sudden and unexplained violent bird attacks on the people of Bodega Bay, California.

Truly a classic horror film but I don't know about that being the number one horror movie for Maine.

I mean, it does kind of look like a coastal town in Maine but shouldn't it be a Stephen King movie like IT or something closer to home? Don't get me wrong, The Birds is an excellent classic horror movie.
