Celebrate Halloween With A Triple Feature At Prides Corner Drive-In
Pride's Corner Drive-In has been in business since 1953, when drive-in theaters were all the rage and the only place you could see a newly released film in many towns in Maine. Gone With The Wind was one of the movies playing at the time they opened.
Over 70 years later, they are still going strong, showing current movies and special theme nights like one coming up just in time for Halloween.
Pride's Corner Triple Feature
Prides Corner Drive-In is offering up a triple feature this weekend, showing three movies that are perfect for the Halloween season.
Casper (1995)
I watched "Casper the Friendly Ghost" on WLVI Channel 56 out of Boston, when the cable company provided Boston stations in Maine. The legendary Dale Dorman was the host of the afternoon cartoons and called himself Uncle Dale. He was also a radio disc jockey at Kiss 108.
When Casper was released in 1995, I wondered why they dropped "the Friendly Ghost."
Scary Movie (2000)
Scary Movie is a comedy/horror parody film from the Wayans brothers. It had similarities to The Naked Gun, but it was a parody of the Scream franchise of movies rather than Police Squad. I think the Naked Gun was better, but I've yet to see the latest version ot the Naked Gun with Liam Neeson. I have something to watch this weekend.
Scream (1996)
The original Scream that started it all featured Drew Barrymore for a short appearance at the beginning of the movie. You can probably guess why it was short.
All three of these movies will be shown at Pride's Corner Drive-In on Friday, October 24, and Saturday, October 25. Gates open at 6 PM, Casper starts at 6:45 PM, Scary Movie starts at 8:35 PM, and Scream starts at 10:10 PM.
Tickets are available at Eventbrite or at the box office with cash only.
