Schools are often closed in the winter due to snowstorms, especially here in the Northeast. But what about for being too hot?

Some schools in North Berwick, Berwick and Lebanon closed early today because of the heat. With temperatures in the 90's in each of the school's second floors, the Superintendent deemed it too hot for classes.

This leads to our question - should schools have air conditioning? Most schools in the area do not...probably because there are usually only a few weeks in the school year that heat would be an issue.

But with weeks like this one, on the verge of a heat wave, it might be worth considering...if it would save us from having to send our kids home.
