Chick-fil-A Replacing Outback Steakhouse in Seabrook, New Hampshire
Bye Outback Steakhouse, hello Chick-fil-A in Seabrook, New Hampshire.
Nearly a year after the Outback Steakhouse Seabrook at Commons Plaza closed suddenly, Chick-fil-A is looking for approval to open.
When is Seabrook, NH getting a Chick-fil-A?
According to Seacoast Online, developers are looking for approval for the 712 Lafayette (Route 1) location. They will demolish Outback and replace it with a 5,200 square-foot Chick-fil-A with a drive-thru and some outdoor seating. They can't just use the Outback building because of Seabrook's zoning ordinance, which mandates a 20-foot greenbelt landscaping setback for all businesses with frontage along Lafayette Road.
What about traffic for the new Seabrook, NH Chick-fil-A?
If you've ever been to Chick-fil-A, you've waited in line. At a planning board meeting, there was some discussion about added traffic to an already busy area of Route 1. Chick-fil-A did a traffic study, but the board requested another based on actual numbers from one or more existing Chick-fil-A locations. For whatever reason, people will travel pretty far to eat at a Chick-fil-A.
This is the Seascoast's second Chick-fil-A and New Hampshire's fifth
The first Seacoast Chick-fil-A was in the Newington Park Shopping Center. Two are in Nashua, one in Somerset, and one in Salem at the Tuscan Village. They are outnumbering Maine by a long shot. Maine has two Chick-fil-As in Westbrook and Bangor, Maine.
