The back of my dad's head is in an Al Pacino movie and I brag about it to strangers all the time. Yes, my dad did extra work a ton in Boston and he said it is a really cool experience being on a movie set!

Massachusetts is becoming a major hub for the film industry. So many major motion pictures were filmed right down street and you might not even know it; A Quiet Place, Super Troopers 2, Manchester by the Sea, Don't Look Up (which hasn't come out yet but literally every famous person that exists is in the cast), I Feel Pretty and so many more!

Have you ever wondered what it is like to be in a big Hollywood movie? Well, get ready for your close up because the Whitney Houston movie "I Wanna Dance with Somebody" will start filming in Boston next month and they are in need of extras!

According to Boston.com, the movie will be filming in Quincy and surrounding towns starting in August and wrapping up in November. Actress Naomi Ackie is playing Whitney and Moses Ingram (from the Queen's Gambit) will play Houston's longtime agent. Their only requirement of local extras is that they must be 18 years of age or older. Your best bet is to create a profile on the Boston Casting website and you will be sent alerts regarding extra work. The other day I saw they were looking for real waitstaff! You never know what they are looking for and if you might fit that criteria!

ALSO Will Ferrell and Ryan Reynolds are filming a Christmas Movie together (is that not the most dynamic of duos?!) and that movie already started filming in Boston last week.
