A great event is coming to the Sanford this June that will benefit so many in need.

The first annual Operation Screaming Eagle fundraiser will be held on Saturday, June 24, at the Sanford Seacoast Regional Airport. The event will benefit veterans and victims of suicide.

The fundraiser, which will run from 11am to 5pm, is loaded with exciting events like skydivers, helicopter rides, K9 demonstrations, music, and an antique airplane display, just to name a few. Plus, many local food trucks will be there to help fill up the attendees.

The benefit will also feature guest speakers, including Joe Torrillo, a retired firefighter and 9/11 survivor. Joe was buried alive twice, while conducting rescue operations at the Twin Towers on that fateful morning. Joe now spends his time telling his remarkable story as a motivational speaker. This is something you will not want to miss.

This remarkable event, and all the proceeds from it, are to help two important organizations, the Navy Seal Foundation and Camp Kita. The Navy Seal Foundation offers support for active service members, veterans, and families of those in special warfare. Camp Kita offers programs and support to those affected from suicide and suicide risk. These are two great organizations to recognize, especially when the two certainly intersect.

Operation Screaming Eagle will also have a live and silent auction to help raise even more funds for the organizations. And the items being auctioned off are no joke. They include an authentic trident, as well as an amazing American flag that was designed by a former Navy Seal.
