As we all attempt to navigate these strange coronavirus times, one popular business in Portland woke up Monday morning to a worst case scenario. Shared on Facebook, Novare Res Bier Cafe stated that their establishment had been broken into and that they were still assessing what had been stolen.

It's not what any small business in Maine wants to see or hear. While all businesses, and particularly those in the service industry, continue to try to stay afloat in these unprecedented times, nobody wants to awake to news that their business has been broken into and looted. The owners of Novare Res put out the warning to other small businesses across Portland to be vigilant in securing their buildings.

The Portland Police Department are currently investigating the incident. Novare Res Bier Cafe is one of the many Portland establishments operating with a to-go menu while the moratorium on gatherings is in place. After they dust off their shoulders, Novare Res plans to reopen for to-go business and will update their Facebook page with hours.

If you have any information on this incident, you are encourage to contact the Portland Police Department.
