If you love pinball, video games, jukeboxes, live music, and live comedy, Wessie's Den is the place. I've played several pinball tournaments here, and the staff and the atmosphere are just perfect.
Sadly, though, the end is coming for Wessie's Den.
Wessie's Den in Westbrook, Maine, Is Closing
Wessie's Den is named after the 10-foot snake skin found in the woods almost 10 years ago in Westbrook in August of 2016.
The debate is still out there about whether this was the real deal or a hoax.
Wessie's Den is located at 212 Brown Street in Westbrook, Maine, and recently announced that they are closing the doors for good after their Halloween party on October 31.
What is Wessie's Den in Westbrook, Maine?
The best description of Wessie's Den is a bar arcade, full of pinball machines and video games, along with a bar and kitchen to serve adult beverages and delicious food.
It has been a regular location in the New England Pinball League, which is a competitive tournament spanning 8 weeks of play, with the top players moving on to the finals. Locations all across New England, including Wessie's, participate.
Announcement of Closing for Wessie's Den
In a Facebook post on October 22, the news was broken to patrons:
Wessie's Den is sad to announce that we will be officially closing the doors on October 31st. After our Halloween party.
We have had a great time meeting all of our amazing patrons over the past (almost) 4 years and being part of the Westbrook community.If anyone out there has any interest in carrying the torch forward please reach out! We would love to see someone else carry on the Wessie's name.
