When heading to Portland, Maine's Old Port, there's a new stop for pizza and burgers with a familiar twist.

According to the Portland Press Herald, Tomaso’s Pizza and Burger Bar is on the famed Wharf Street in the Old Port, where The Rathskeller used to be.

Wait. Is that the same Tomaso's as the canteen in Portland, Maine?

It is! It's a sister restaurant to Tomaso's Canteen, a tiny hole-in-the-wall dive bar that's spectacular, especially their tacos. If you've never been to Tomaso's Canteen, I recommend going there before hitting up the new Tomaso's. The Portland Press Herald quoted a social media post,

There are a lot of similarities and a lot of different stuff too. At our new location, we will do our best to live up to the Original Tomaso’s reputation of great food and drinks at a reasonable price and a positive vibe.

Tomaso's Bar is open for the later crowd. Tuesday through Sunday from 4 pm until 1 in the morning. You can go from a salad to sandwiches, smash burgers, red snapper hot dogs, chicken wings, and pizza! Lots of yummy beers, too.

Next time you find yourself wondering about Portland's Old Port later at night and your stomach is grumbling, you can go old school and new school all in one place. Stop by and check out your new favorite place. Just remember, Wharf Street is not the place for high heels!
