One of America’s Coolest Small Towns is in New Hampshire
Wait, say what?
Here in New England, we know we're lucky to live in one of the best parts of the US.
Over the years, countless studies have directed high praise towards our region. Last year, a WalletHub study announced the best small cities in the country, and eight New England towns made the list. Our area has also been highlighted for having some of the most magical winter wonderland towns, most underrated destinations and hottest zip codes in the country, best places to visit, and restaurants that made the New York Times' Restaurant List.
It turns out that New England, specifically New Hampshire, is also home to one of the coolest towns in America. Yes, you heard that right.
Look, not to talk smack about New Hampshire. It's got countless great qualities that make it a desirable destination for folks from all over. But it's not really a place with towns your average Joe would classify as "cool." Then again, I guess it depends on how you define "cool."
Anyway, Far and Wide recently came out with this list of America's coolest small towns, one of which is in the Granite State. That place would be...*drum roll, please...*
Meredith, New Hampshire
This writer did not expect Meredith to be on the list, but rather a Seacoast location. Nonetheless, the accolade is well-deserved.
According to Far and Wide, what makes Meredith one of the coolest small towns is its status as a "resort getaway for all who want to enjoy "Lake Winni's 71 square miles." The site also mentions the gorgeous fall foliage, and equally memorable winter scenery.
Now, here's a look at the 10 best towns in all of New Hampshire, according to locals. Is yours on the list?
