One Missing Letter Totally Changed the Meaning of a McDonald’s Sign in Maine
There can be a beauty to the English language. Something so straightforward and non-complex can lose its entire meaning when one letter is removed. If that one letter happens to be on a very visible sign along a busy stretch of road in Maine, questions are likely to start popping up before anyone even has a chance to fix the small error. Welcome to case of the missing letter at the McDonald's location in Bath.
Shared on Facebook by Rodney Toothaker, McDonald's in Bath has been using their large sign as a recruiting tool as they look to grab potential employees' attention. As anyone with a non-electronic, old school sign knows, you've got to be extra careful ensuring the letters you put into place aren't going to blow away when strong wind gusts occur. That wasn't the case for McDonald's, as the C blew onto the next line of the sign. It left the fast food chain in a mcpickle (no, that's not on the menu).
To clarify (as if you need it), McDonald's in Bath is looking for CLOSERS. That sign-on bonus and other perks are for any interested party who can handle the duties and hours associated with closing the restaurant. McDonald's in Bath definitely isn't searching out losers to add to their staff. The unfortunate misspelling led to plenty of laughs for passersby and perhaps a few CLOSERS who are out there looking for a job as well.
