Imagine your beach walking, peacefully listening to the waves and you happen upon what looks like a dinosaur on the beach.

Well, a very ill loggerhead turtle washed up on Truro beach this weekend, according to masslive.com, and it is getting some much-needed medical help.

The turtle appeared dead until someone saw one of its feet move, the news site stated, and, thankfully, the Truro Department of Public Works and Mass Audubon Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary was ready for the rescue.

The behemoth turtle was taken to the New England Aquarium and is receiving topflight medical care per the news outlet.

It’s a bit early in the season for loggerhead turtles to be in the area, and this turtle is around 30 years old, the aquarium said in the article.  He was in bad shape when he arrived at the aquarium barely breathing, the site added.

The team at the aquarium is giving him medication and fluids hoping to get his condition better.

To be honest, if I would have seen it on the beach, I would have mistaken him for a big rock.  Fortunately for the turtle, the people who spotted him knew what he was and knew he was in distress and the hardworking crew with Mass Audubon Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary and Truro Department of Public Works sprang into action.
