According to Concord Patch, Bon-Ton, a department store that has been at the Steeplegate Mall for several years, will be closing it's two stores there in the next 10 to 12 weeks.

The store closures are among 40 to 50 nationwide, and is part of a “store rationalization program” by the company.

According to Wikipedia, when the Steeplegate Mall originally opened in 1990, one of it's anchor stores was Sage-Allen, which became Bon-Ton in 1999.

Look for some big discounts at the stores this month, as they liquidate their inventory. According to The Concord Monitor, the store has already started sharp markdowns, with everything 30-50 percent off. As the end date draws closer, those price cuts will jump to 80 percent.

Bon-Ton fans will now have to travel to Westfield, MA, home of the nearest remaining store that the company plans to keep open.
