Mayor Carl Sheline has declared the entire month of October “Halloween Town” in Lewiston, so consider this your official permission slip to lean all the way into spooky season.

Sheline announced the proclamation this week, encouraging the community to embrace the Halloween spirit throughout the month.

And honestly, if you’ve been waiting for an excuse to put out the skeletons, decorate the front porch, stock up on candy or wear a costume when it’s probably a little too early… here you go.

It’s official.

The proclamation celebrates the fun, creativity and community spirit that come along with Halloween, turning the entire month of October into an opportunity for Lewistonians to get involved and celebrate!

And let’s be honest, Halloween has come a long way from throwing a sheet over your head and calling yourself a ghost. Between elaborate yard displays, themed parties, pumpkin carving, costumes and neighborhood trick-or-treating, some people treat October like it’s the Super Bowl of decorating.

So, Lewiston… you’ve got a whole month!

Show us what you got baby!

Break out the pumpkins. Hang the cobwebs. Put that giant skeleton somewhere your neighbors absolutely did not ask for it. And if you’ve been waiting for the right time to fully commit to your Halloween decorations, this is it.

Mayor Sheline has spoken.

Lewiston is Halloween Town for the month of October.
