This isn't your normal art museum. Portland has literally created a museum you can physically interact with, and it is SO COOL.

Encounters is a unique, one-of-a-kind pop-up art experience that allows you to interact with the different displays designed to make you feel "one with the art".

I actually tried it out the other day (my kind of Sunday Fun Day), and there were literally colorful squares moving around on the floor that you could step into. Picture Bubba's Sulky Lounge, but without the anxiety and old statues.

It combines music with physical touch, and some pieces of art had laser effects that were super trippy.

According to Encounters,

"Encounters will offer you a whole new way to experience art in a playful interactive space".

They're not kidding either. They cover over 6,000 square feet of ground with immersive art that you can walk through during both the daytime and nighttime.

You need to act quickly though, Encounters is only on their Portland, Maine, stop during the month of August.

It is open Wednesday through Sunday from 6 pm to 11 pm.

Another quote by Encounters,

"It's a hybrid of a theme park and an art gallery, Encounters will offer you a whole new way to experience art in a playful interactive space".

Grab your tickets here if you're interested! I highly recommend a fun activity night with the squad or fam squad.
