Huge things are taking affect in the town of Lewiston, Maine and this is worth getting excited about.

According to WMTW, the Maine Museum of Innovation, Learning and Labor, "Maine MILL" is gearing up to open their brand new home. This is a major upgrade.

Where is this happening?

Formerly known as Museum L-A, the museum is relocating to a beautifully renovated space inside the Camden Yarns Mill right on Beech Street, near Simard-Payne Memorial Park, at 1 Beech Street, Lewiston.

This is a big step for the city and it isn’t just a move, it’s a full-on transformation.  

What You Need To Know About The Maine Mill in Lewiston

As per the report, the project costs $14 million and includes a 22,000 square foot spot featuring bigger exhibits, a kid’s area, gallery, and dedicated memorial room to honor the October 25th tragedy.

This will include some of Maine’s rich history. Lot’s a learning and interaction and the museum will highlight what makes this region of Maine so special.  

Right now, the crews are busy moving and packing around 10,000 artifacts from the old Canal Street spot into their new location.

The weekend of June 26th, 2026 is set to be the grand opening of the new Maine MILL. It’s being called a cultural hub for Lewiston-Auburn and a catalyst for future revitalization.
