The CEO and fifth-generation ice cream maker Lindsay Skilling says they love coming up with new flavors and doing something new like pint size. They are known for their quart sizes. Plus, they are releasing 3 new flavors because they couldn't decide on which one to pick. so they decided to make all three slow-churned and creamy flavors.

What are the new flavors?

Great question. You're gonna want all of them.

  • Pumpkin - Like Autumn on a spoon – a creamy smooth combo of real pumpkin and spices.
  • Apple Pie Churro - Rich churro ice cream with swirls of caramel, bits of apple, and crispy churro sticks.
  • White Peppermint Chocolate Chip - Cool peppermint ice cream, loaded with chocolate chips and peppermint crunch.

They are on sale now, and it's while supplies last. It's amazing that Gifford's was able to make these special flavors because of continued supply issues. To get the new White Peppermint Chocolate Chip seasonal pint flavor to market, Gifford's learned that the peppermint it would need was out of stock until November. So they got creative and held some peppermint it would have used to make its Pink Peppermint Stick flavor and it didn't hurt production.

I think the flavor I'm most excited to try is pumpkin! I've never had pumpkin ice cream, but I bet it tastes like cold pie. I'll let ya know!

Gifford’s still makes ice cream the old-fashioned way – from scratch, with fresh milk and cream from local dairy farms. They use antique Cherry Burrell freezers to slow churn ice cream that continues to be one of Maine's favorites.
