Longtime Fabric & Quilt Shop In Madison To Close At End Of Year
According to Centralmaine.com, after more than 40 years in business, The Fabric Garden in Madison will be closing its doors at the end of the year. The Fabric Garden opened in 1978, making it one of Maine's oldest quilt and fabric shops.
A new sewing machine dealer will be moving into the location at 167 Lakewood Road in Madison, which will be transitioned in as The Fabric Garden phases out at the end of the year. Owner Michaela “Kala” Murphy, wanted to make sure when selling that a similar business would open in the area for regular customers
In case you missed it... We officially wrapped up our 3rd annual Camp Out Hunger food drive, and according to Captain Keith Davis from the Salvation Army, we as a community here in Central Maine came together and raised 41,000 pounds of food! After doing a little math, Keith told us that's a retail value of $112,000.00 in food donations! That's $112,000.00, not including our total cash donations of $10,000!
THANK YOU. THANK YOU. THANK YOU. Thank you times a billion, because there is absolutely NO way we could have done it without YOU!
