Krispy Kreme Releasing Harry Potter Doughnuts, But You Won’t Find Them in Maine

Krispy Kreme has a new promotion with Harry Potter and will soon be offering Harry Potter-themed Doughnuts. If you want them, you're going to have to go for a long drive.

Krispy Kreme x Harry Potter: Back to Hogwarts Collection

For a limited time, Krispy Kreme participating locations will be serving up "House of Hogwarts Doughnuts. One for each of the four houses in the books, films and the HBO Original TV series based on the Harry Potter that is coming soon. Here's the list of doughnuts:

Gryffindor Doughnut – an unglazed shell doughnut filled with cookie butter flavored Kreme, dipped in red icing and Biscoff cookie crumble, topped with golden icing drizzles and the Gryffindor crest.

Slytherin Doughnut – an Original Glazed doughnut topped with chocolate and green buttercreme flavored swirls, chocolate cookie sugar blend, and the Slytherin crest.

Hufflepuff Doughnut – an unglazed shell doughnut filled with brown butter toffee flavored custard, dipped in golden yellow icing, and topped with black chocolate drizzle, cookie crunch, and the Hufflepuff crest.

Ravenclaw Doughnut – an Original Glazed doughnut dipped in blueberry flavored icing, topped with the Ravenclaw sprinkles and crest.

These will all be available from August 18 for a limited time. However, there's a big "but" for everyone in New England.

You Can't Get Harry Potter Donuts in New England

Krispy Kreme has 353 locations in the United States, while competitor Dunkin' has 9,608 locations across 45 states. Maine had two Krispy Kreme locations, one in Auburn and one in Saco, but neither lasted long, with both locations closed in March of 2020.

What About Other New England States?

This map shows you where all the Krispy Kreme locations in New England are. Except for a 24-hour Krispy Kreme inside the Mohegan Sun casino in Connecticut, there are none in New England.

For some reason, Google Maps hasn't removed Krispy Kreme in Auburn from its map, but they do note that it is permanently closed. The Saco location is wiped off their map completely.

So, where's the nearest place you can get these special Harry Potter Krispy Kreme doughnuts? New Jersey. Sorry kids.
