Join The American Cancer Society For A Making Strides Kickoff Event

Unite in the fight against breast cancer! Making Strides Against Breast Cancer of Greater Portland will host a Kickoff event Monday, Aug. 12, from 3 – 5 p.m., at Maine Medical Center, 100 Campus Drive, Scarborough. This open house style event welcomes everyone to this free event to learn more about the Making Strides event, to see where donations go with a fun ‘Mission Bingo’ game, to get inspiration for fundraisers, to hear about the political advocacy group American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network, and to take a social media-ready photo in an oversized, inflatable pink chair! Making Strides Against Breast Cancer of Greater Portland is a noncompetitive walk set for Sunday, Oct. 20, at 9 a.m., at Fort Williams Park in Cape Elizabeth. Dollars raised by Making Strides events help the American Cancer Society ensure no one faces breast cancer alone by funding innovative breast cancer research, promoting education and risk reduction and providing comprehensive patient support to those who need it most.
