After what has been a horribly underwhelming summer with mostly rain and humid weather, the first week-plus of September has felt like the summer that we've been desiring for the last three months.

And while it was great to have a week of constant warm weather and sunshine, the strong humidity the last couple of days, as always, lent itself to the possibility of scattered thunderstorms popping up throughout parts of Maine.

And while some storms did hit some areas -- and in some cases, more than once -- no one could have expected the disaster that happened in South Berwick, Maine, as an entire farm stand was destroyed in the blink of an eye.

Wallys Farm Stand in South Berwick, Maine

Located on Route 236/Dow Highway in South Berwick, Maine, right near the Fife Lane intersection, Wallys Farm Stand has been a highlight for Mainers during the summer months for years now.

Unfortunately, disaster struck quickly Friday as storms containing brutally strong winds swept through South Berwick in the late afternoon/early evening hours.

Wallys Farm Stand Destroyed

As highlighted in a post by Lois Flynn in the Berwick, Maine unofficial page on Facebook, winds that swept through South Berwick were strong enough to not only knock down tree limbs, but literally hit Wallys Farm Stand just right to cause the entire truck housing the stand to be overturned.

According to Debra OBrien in the comments section of the post, thankfully, no one was working at the stand on Friday.
