This Lakeside Café Sits On Top Of Belgrade, Maine’s Most Iconic Store Offering Delicious Lunch And Drinks
Summer is basically upon us, and there is nothing like small-town vibes in Maine. Places like Belgrade, Maine are iconic because not only do you get to explore different storefronts and walk around town, but you also get that classic Maine feeling that keeps people coming back year after year. Of course, there’s the infamous Day’s Store that everyone knows, but what’s upstairs from Day’s Store is the perfect little hidden gem Belgrade needed: 1958 Café.
From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted by some of the nicest staff, making you feel right at home immediately. Pair that with the beautiful Long Pond waterfront views, and it’s hard to beat. Sitting there watching boaters come in and dock or seeing people get ready for a day out fishing just adds to the whole experience. It’s the perfect place to enjoy breakfast or lunch and catch up over a delicious drink with friends.
My sister and I enjoyed a delicious gluten-free turkey melt while sitting at the bar, watching locals and tourists come and go throughout the afternoon. One of my favorite parts was asking for a mocktail. Instead of simply mixing together a few juices, the bartender made beautiful mocktails that tasted just as good as they looked.
Everything about the experience was amazing, so if you’re heading out on the lake this summer, make sure you stop into 1958 Café for a drink or a quick bite. Hidden gems like this are what make Maine summers unforgettable.
