I remember as a kid when a mini-golf course opened up in my hometown of South Paris, and how excited I was about it. Back in the 80s, kids in South Paris only had one place to hang out...Action Family Arcade at the local LaVerdiere's Super Drug Store.

All these years later as an adult, I'm excited for mini-golf again paired up with a restaurant and bar. Sound fun? It's coming to Portland soon.

The name of this new place currently under construction in the former World Gym on Marginal Way in Portland, seen above, is  "minbar." That's not a typo. The "M" is lowercase on purpose, according to an article from Mainebiz.

"minibar" is owned by Kevin Moschella, and the space is not mini at all. Moschella is using half of what was World Gym. It's 15,000 square feet and they will be installing an indoor mini-golf course, a bar, and a restaurant. There'll be some outdoor seating, cornhole, and some arcade games as well.

The plans for the 18-hole course layout have been completed and will include some sports themes like "hockey hole" where you have to putt past hockey-stick barriers.  Another is a skiing hole that has slalom-gate barriers. It sounds like a lot of fun.

minibar will be open to all ages and will serve a variety of food at their restaurant and a wide selection of drinks at their bar. The plan is to have minibar open sometime in June.
