It's time to "fall back." Hopefully, this blog will serve to remind someone who would have otherwise forgotten.

Daylight Savings Time is officially over as of 2 a.m. on Sunday morning, which means we gain an extra hour to do whatever we want with it. Why we still observe this antiquated ritual is a mystery to me. Sure, we get more daylight hours in the evening in the summer; but that also means it gets darker earlier in the winter. Many people, including me, literally get sad during the dark and cold months. If I remember correctly from studying about "SAD," or seasonal affective disorder, lack of sunlight is one of the contributing factors to this very real mental health problem.

If I had it my way, we would have daylight hours in the evening year round. It makes more sense. However, I will enjoy my extra hour of sleep this weekend. Luckily, with technology, the only two clocks I'll have to change are the ones in my car and on my stove.
