I may save my pennies to try this unique meal in Portland, Maine.

I guess you could call me an amateur foodie. I love being adventurous and trying all sorts of new foods and restaurants. I came across one in Portland that I had never heard of called N to Tail. What caught my attention was the Lobster Jumokbap.

For only $39.00 you get a one-and-a-half pound Maine lobster in gochugaru (Korean chili powder) sauce with crispy rice and furikake (Japanese seasoning). That alone had me strolling through the menu while drooling.

From their website,

We strive to use all ingredients from the root to the flower, gill to the fin, and yes, nose to the tail.

This is a Korean fusion restaurant in the heart of Portland's Old Port in the same building as the old Fuji (same owner). You've got a couple of options, family-style Korean Barbecue downstairs, fine Korean dining upstairs, and bars on both levels.

Korean BBQ is sort of like the more known hibachi, but YOU cook your veggies and meat! On the Korean BBQ level, there is a raw kitchen that sets you up with a variety of marinated meat and vegetables. Each table has a grill built into the center for you to do the cooking! What fun! But if you are into the chef cooking your meal, head to the fine dining level. That's where I saw a meal for $125.

This meal will set you back $125 at N to Tail in Portland, Maine

On the menu to N to Tail is a pan-seared Wagyu Australian grade 9 cut steak served with rice with crown daisy, onion, and poached egg. Topped with a demi-glaze. It will set you back $125! And I want it. What does Wagyu beef taste like? According to Rockin Pig,

The high degree of marbling imparts a deeper, more robust beef flavour compared to leaner cuts. The fat in Wagyu beef is also rich in monounsaturated fats, which contribute a subtle sweetness to the meat's flavour. Wagyu beef is known for its nutty, buttery flavour profile, which is both rich and satisfying.

I've never tried Wagyu beef, but this seems like the perfect setting. Have you had it? Would you try it? Time for me to start saving!
