Do You Think Maine Chick-fil-A Locations Will Start Doing This ‘No Phone’ Challenge Too?
Alright, imagine we're out to eat and I am telling you something super interesting, your phone rings and conversation over. I've lost you to the void of the iPhone.
But some Chick-Fil-A locations are starting to notice that too many of us don't talk while we eat at their restaurants. So they've come up with an idea to fix that.
According to FoxBusiness, Chick-fil-A is testing this thing called the “Cell Phone Coop Challenge,” and honestly…it’s pretty cool.
It’s not mandatory and the idea is simple, when you sit down to eat, everyone at the table puts their phones on silent and drops them into this little coop, than you just, eat and talk like it’s 2005 again.
Mouthattack via Instagram put out a story on this growling trend as well.
If you successfully commit for the entire meal, everyone included, you are rewarded with a free Ice Cream cone at the end! They are literally bribing us to have a conversation while we eat and I am not mad about it.
Do You Think Maine Chick-fil-A Locations Will Start Doing This “No Phone” Challenge Too?
As per the report, this started in Maryland, but it’s not required everywhere. Individual franchise owners can decide if they want to partake in the challenge, which makes us wonder, will the Bangor or Westbrook, Maine locations ever do this?
I could see it going either way. Some families would love to unplug but others may not want to be without their phone the second the conversation slows down.
Still, it hits on something very real and authentic.

Everyone says they want more “Real talk” and “quality time,” but then we all sit there, scrolling. This just forces us all a little rest, with a frozen dessert to motivate us.
So…if your local Chick-fil-A started offering this, would you actually go for it?
