For nearly two decades, Vignola and Cinque Terre have been an Italian restaurant staple in Portland's Old Port. Cinque Terre was one of the very first farm-to-table restaurants in Portland and is credited with being a huge part of the dining movement in Portland that we all experience today. Eventually Cinque Terre joined forced with Vignola and became one of the city's coziest establishments. But according to Portland Food Map, the time has come to move on for the owners and the prime real estate that Vignola and Cinque Terre has held in the heart of the Old Port will be transferred to another successful entrepreneur.

Josh Miranda and his restaurant group will take over the space that Vignola and Cinque Terra inhabits when they officially close on May 12th. According to Portland Old Port, Miranda plans to follow the same game plan he's used on other projects, including Blythe & Burrows on Exchange Street, and transform the space into an upscale restaurant and cocktail bar. He has promised to release more details on his vision in the coming weeks. The plan would be for the new restaurant/bar to open this fall.

Several new resyaurants/bar have opened to great success in this corner of the Old Port in recent years including Bonfire and Mash Tun.
