Every Friday in October, we gave someone who is currently dealing with cancer or who has survived it a makeover, courtesy of Anabel's Angels, a 501c3 nonprofit organization designed to provide support to underfunded clinical trials and programs for the terminally ill and physically afflicted.

Amy Lanois is from Lebanon, New Hampshire and now lives in Lewiston, Maine. Amy's husband Joey nominated her for a Anabel's Angels' makeover, and wrote the following about her.:

I would like to nominate my wife Amy Lanois, because she is the strongest person I know. She was diagnosed with 2 types of breast cancer (one was stage 1 and other was stage 3) in one breast, 9 years ago in 2011 at the age of 37. She had a double mastectomy just has a precaution, because it ran heavily on both sides of her family. When they removed her breast, they found 2 large cysts on her ovaries. About 2 1/2 years ago, Amy lost one of her younger sisters to an extremely rare form of cervical cancer.

Thank you for sharing your experience with us. It is Anabel's Angels and 94.9 HOM's hope to bring light into our listeners' lives and put smiles on the faces of people who need a little pampering with a makeover.
