Abigail Heringer From ‘The Bachelor’ Speaks at UNH About Unseen Disabilities

If you're a dedicated member of Bachelor Nation, you know that the journey to find love on reality TV can be quite the roller coaster even if you are "here for the right reasons" (if you know, you know).

Fans are invested and embrace it all, from following contestants on Instagram to listening to podcasts like Click Bait, She's All Bach, and others. They love learning more about what those on the franchise are up to.

So, regardless of how you feel about reality TV, it was probably a surprise for many to hear that someone from the franchise would be coming to the Granite State.

26-year-old Abigail Heringer, seen on both "The Bachelor" and "Bachelor in Paradise," came to the University of New Hampshire on Friday night to speak about unseen disabilities.

The UNH MUB made this Facebook post about the event.

Abigail was very sweet, soft-spoken, and down-to-earth during her interview at the University, much like how she was on TV. Everything about her demeanor was very polite and professional.

She told of her experiences growing up with hearing loss and receiving a cochlear implant as a toddler. The device gives her the ability to hear, as both Abigail and her sister were born completely deaf.

She also spoke about her time at Linfield University in Oregon, as well as her experiences on The Bachelor.

It was during these years when Abigail truly learned the importance of advocating for herself, especially in a world that has a ways to go in improving accessibility tools for those with disabilities.

The evening ended with a Q&A and small meet-and-greet, during which Abigail remained very sweet and attentive to everyone who spoke with her.

She even posted a TikTok featuring audiences from both UNH and Boston College, where she'd visited previously.

Even though we may not know for sure why Abigail chose to travel to New England in the winter (and fresh off of a tropical vacation, at that), we're sure glad that she stopped by to share her story.
