94.9 HOM Cupcake Finalists Revealed [Audio]

Who knew that selecting 10 finalists for the 94.9 HOM Cupcake Challenge would be so challenging.  We had some fantastic entries. We considered a number of factors when selecting the finalists. 

Because we weren't tasting the cupcakes, we considered the photos, descriptions and stories behind the cupcakes. We ended up with a nice variety of flavors, professionals, amateurs and Maine & New Hampshire contestants. We also decided to add a juniors category.  Several of them were so good, I would have included them in with the adult finalist.  They all will be on display at Dessert First. Tickets are still available at 94.9 HOM. All the finalists have been contacted.

Today the spotlight is on finalist Amy Dube. She has a Chocolate Peanut Butter Bliss Cupcake. What better combination? A delicious, fluffy, moist chocolate cake with gooey Peanut Butter center. A Light Peanut Butter Buttercream frosting tops this rich cupcake perfectly. Don't forget the Mini Reese 's cup to finish it off!

Here's Amy's story... "I am a stay at home mom with a start up business in my kitchen. Currently word of mouth & a Facebook page are my only marketing. I would love to get to the next stage in my business by having my name out there on a larger scale. When I was just starting to become serious about this venture I entered a cupcake contest and placed second. I would love to see how I hold up against others, especially judged by those who know. This cupcake is my most popular flavor combination."
