Remember When a Stressed Out Mom Was Moved to Tears at This New Hampshire McDonald’s?
I can't speak from experience, but I can only imagine that when you are a mama of three, dinner time can be the most stressful time of the day. It's right up there with getting the kids out the door for school. Actually, if we're being honest, it all sounds stressful.
A few months ago, Brittany Reed from Strafford, New Hampshire, found herself in a three-against-one battle. She was picking her son up from football practice and had her other two kiddos in the car. Her four-year-old was overtired and started crying, then her seven-year-old daughter did not approve of the choice to have red potatoes as a side for dinner, so naturally, she started screaming her head off. Brittany was at her wits end, and came to the conclusion that many overwhelmed mamas do: she threw up her hands and said, "McDonald's it is!"
They went through the drive-thru, and Brittany managed to get her order out over her three children, who at that point were all crying for one reason or another. As she pulled up to the window, her heart sank. She left her purse at home. Tears welled up in her eyes as she apologized to the cashier and explained that she was going to have to cancel her order. Without hesitation, this teenage boy took out his wallet and swiped his own card so quickly she didn't even have time to object. After the fact, Brittany told the young man he didn't have to do that, that she would more than happy to go grab her purse and come back, to which he answered, "no, it's totally fine, it's my pleasure".
WOW! A teenager working at McDonald's probably doesn't have tons of extra money to spot a family money for dinner, but he did it anyway. Brittany was able to snap a quick photo of this angel who saved her night. His name is Wyatt:
Brittany went back and handed him cash and had to make him take it, because he didn’t want to take more than he had paid. She let him know that the good you put out in the world comes back to you tenfold. She said:
"Wyatt, do not let this world change your kind heart. It's people like YOU that will change this world for the better!"
Brittany really hopes that the tale of his good deed reaches Wyatt's parents, because they should be really proud. What a kind and compassionate dude. Way to go, Wyatt!
